UAI 2022 Analytics Maturity Assessment Report

UAI Analytics Maturity Assessment

The UAI Analytics Maturity Assessment is a self-assessment tool which enables each participating utility to compare its current level on the analytics maturity curve overall and across seven dimensions to that of other participating members.

Analytics maturity is a journey toward using analytics in the decision-making processes throughout an organization to validate business decisions and outcomes with data. As an industry, utilities are steadily traveling forward on that road. Some utilities are forging their way ahead to blaze a trail, but they continue to harvest insights being collected by member utilities that are progressing at a slower pace. Utility Analytics Institute (UAI) partners with the UAI Executive Advisory Council (EAC) and UAI staff to develop and conduct an Analytics Maturity Assessment (AMA) biennially for member utilities to track their progress along the path to analytics maturity.

The AMA is a self-assessment tool which enables each participating utility to compare its current level on the analytics maturity curve overall and across seven dimensions to that of other participating members.  The 2022 Analytics Maturity Assessment Report and the corresponding 2022 Analytics Maturity Assessment Executive Summary are member only publications.

The 2022 Analytics Maturity Assessment Report provides the responses to the 2022 Analytics Maturity Assessment Survey along with an analysis, observations, and recommendations for each dimension.  A single utility may not find information from every section relevant to themselves, however, it is a helpful tool for all the utilities to glean pieces of information that assists in their journey up the analytics maturity curve.

The 2022 AMA Executive Summary provides talking points, including recommendations, for UAI members in a shortened format, easy to share and discuss with senior leadership and stakeholders across the business units.

All survey information is confidential and will be shared only with the explicit permission of each utility’s EAC representative(s) on a case-by-case basis. All other shared information is aggregated, and the identity of individual utilities will remain anonymous.
